Each individual portfolio is secured using a unique username and password. There are 5 different types of user access levels Candidate, Assessor, IV, EV and Centre Managers. Each level ensures that each user can only access the information that they are intended (supposed) to. No unauthorised access can be made to the NVQs Direct system.

NVQs Direct can be used from anywhere worldwide providing you have access to a computer and the Internet.
No advanced computer skills are required to use the NVQs Direct system, as long as the user(s) are experienced using an Internet browser and an email client they should face no problems operating the system.
Evidence is added to a candidate’s portfolio by uploading it and cross-referencing it to the required Performance Criteria and/or Knowledge and Understanding. The assessment method and assessment decision can then be made. The system then instantly updates the candidates’ portfolio, evidence matrix and gap analysis.
Assessment plans, feedback reports, targets and any additional information can be added to a candidate’s portfolio, ensuring that all the required information is displayed and available for the internal and external verifiers.
The candidates’ portfolios can be accessed by their respective internal and external verifier. The internal verifier can login to the system at anytime. Once logged onto NVQs Direct they can undertake sampling in line with the centre’s sampling policy. Any sampling carried out is then highlighted within the candidate’s portfolio for the assessor to view and subsequently agree with or disagree with. Assessor observations & candidate interviews can be recorded, helping to verifiers to monitor assessors.
NVQs Direct can be used for any vocational qualification including NVQ, SVQ, VRQ and Basic Skills. We currently have a range of qualifications on NVQs Direct and if you require more to be added for your centre, this can be anytime, free of charge.
The candidate’s portfolio will stay on the NVQs Direct system for 3 months once the qualification has been signed off. After the 3 months has elapsed, the whole portfolio is downloaded onto a personalised CD. Two copies of this CD will be sent to the centre, a copy for the centre’s records and a copy for the candidate.
Your organisation can be set up to be using the NVQs Direct system within an hour. Once we have set you up as a centre, an online interview will determine how your organisation will use the system. Once the interview is complete you will ready to use NVQs Direct.
NVQs Direct is hosted by ourselves on a dedicated server. It is located in a state of the art data centre in central London with burstable bandwidth of up to 100Mbps, ensuring a high-speed connection. Full specification of the data centre can be provided upon request.
The server automatically backs up every file/document as it is uploaded. These files are uploaded inline with our Service Level Agreement which is available upon request.
No additional software/hardware is required to use the NVQs Direct system. All that is required is a personal computer with Internet access. We recommend that Microsoft Internet Explorer is used, although other browsers can be used. The NVQs Direct System has been tested using both Apple and Microsoft operating systems.
Technical support is provided online using or online manuals. If further help is required NVQs Direct offers free support via email and telephone within office hours.
